Mary Twila Reynolds-Rice
Mary Twila Reynolds-RiceCrossMary Twila Reynolds-Rice, 92 of Marion, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Presidential Center where she had been residing for the last seven years.  Mary will spend Christmas and Eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She was born July 17, 1923 in Marion to the late Fayman James and Ruthella (Cull) Fox.  On April 5, 1942 she married John W. Reynolds in Newport, Kentucky and he died September 8, 1990.  She was then married to Ike Rice on July 12, 2005 and he died September 3, 2013.  She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Aldridge.

She and her husband served as missionaries to the Navajo Tribe in New Mexico from 1961 to 1963 and then to the Chippewa Indians in Lac du Flambeau in Wisconsin from 1973 to 1979.  She was then employed by the First Baptist Church in Downers Grove, Illinois as their secretary, retiring in 1987.  At the age of 75 she received her Associates Degree in Commercial Art from Clark State College in Springfield, Ohio.  She had attended both the Trinity Baptist Church and Berean Baptist Church, both in Marion.  Mary was an accomplished violinist, able to play by ear and really enjoyed participating in “jam sessions” while she resided at Seton Square in Marion.

She is survived by her sister, June (Earl) Snare, Marion, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Ryan Strother officiating.  Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery.
