Jeff L. Swihart

Jeff L. Swihart, 49 of Marion died Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at OSU Medical Center. He was born September 14, 1966 in Delaware to Ron and Carolyn Sue (Jordan) Swihart.

A 1984 graduate of River Valley High School, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in British Literature from The Ohio State University. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waldo. Jeff was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians. The center of his life was his son, Sebastian. He enjoyed spending time with him and always shared an interest in everything he did. Blind since birth, he enjoyed listening to alternative music and following political news and current events.

He is survived by his parents, Ron and Carolyn Sue Swihart, Waldo; his son, Sebastian Swihart, Marion; his sister, Kathy (Ben) Graham, Cardington; dear friends, Shirley and Stanley Simpkins, Marion; and five nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 23, 2015 at 4:00 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waldo with Pastor Sarah Schaaf officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, beginning at 3:00 PM. Burial will take place at a later date at the Waldo Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home to help the family with final expenses.

Jeff was a good friend who always had a smile on his face, good sense of humor but mostly he was a good friend to everyone! Will never forget you Jeff! RIP dear friend...
