Iris J. Hardin
Iris J. HardinBird Gold FinchIris J. Hardin 87 of LaRue, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon September 23, 2015 at the Kobacker House in Columbus.

She was born September 27, 1927 in Bridgewater, England to the late William and Anne (Saunders) Tucker, she was also predeceased by her husband Henry M. Hardin, they were married January 25, 1947 in Bridgewater, England and he died October 3, 1988.  She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Henry Hardin Harris, a brother, Jim Tucker and sister, Doris Leatherby.

She was very talented with her hands and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and was an accomplished piano player, able to play by ear.  Iris loved bird watching and taking care of wild native birds at her home.  She was a good neighbor and appreciated the deep ties she had with them, especially the Harley Hostetler family.  Her family was the true center of her life.

Surviving are her children, Mike (Margaret) Hardin, LaRue; Susen Hardin, LaRue and Rebecca Hardin, Ridgeway; a sister, Mary (Hugh) Cowan, England, grandchildren, Mary Mitchell, Amy Mitchell, Margaret Glassman and Hanna Hardin.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, LaRue with Pastor Mike Raypholtz officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hardin County.  Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at the funeral home in LaRue.

Memorial gifts may be made to Kobacker House, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, OH 43214.

Iris was very good to all of the Ballinger and Benson families as I'm certain she was to all of the families back home. Iris marched to the beat of a very different drum. A loving, self sufficient lady that taught her children to live life much the same that she and her incredible husband did. I hope they are dancing today.
