Edith Faye Sharp
Edith Faye SharpEdith Faye Sharp, age 78, of the Meeker area, died Friday March 29, 2013 at 11:32 PM at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware, Ohio.  She was born May 21, 1934 in Marion County near Meeker to the late Emerson and Zelma (Sloat) McKelvy. On December 11, 1955 she married Richard D. Sharp and he died June 25, 2010.

She is survived by one Son, James (Denise) Sharp of Meeker and one Daughter Karen (Steve) Herr also of Meeker. Grandchildren; Steve (Robyn) Herr Jr, Kelly (Brandon) Simmons, James Wesley (Rachel) Sharp, Jamie Lee Sharp and Monica (Jason) Tom. Twelve Great Grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one brother  Charles Alan McKelvy and one sister Elsie Marcene Schnitzler.

Mrs. Sharp was a homemaker and graduated from Meeker High School in 1952 where she was the Salutatorian of her class of eight. She also was a cheerleader. She worked for 5 years as a secretary for GTE of Marion.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday April 2, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue.  Minister will be the Rev. M. Joseph Miller. Burial will be at a later date.  Family will receive friends 2 hours before service time at the funeral home in LaRue.

Those who wish may make contributions to either the Marion County Council on aging for senior transportation or the Meeker United Methodist Church.

Jim and Karen,Oh I only have great fond memories of your parents.I was proud ot know of them both.You four were the best neighbors I had back in the day.Your mom loved the family life and all the good stuff that came with it.I admit after my moving I hav'nt kept in touch.But you all touched my heart and I'm so sorry to hear of her passing.Nothing but good memories and good times.Please feel free to use my email address and keep me posted.Love to you all, Carolyn
