Lamont Johnston
Lamont JohnstonEuchreLamont Johnston age 87 formerly of Prospect, died early Wednesday morning March 7, 2012 at the Marion General Hospital.

She was born April 12, 1924 in Prospect to the late Dana and Ethel (Hennis) Cameron, she was also predeceased in July of 1988 by her husband Harry R. “Bob” Johnston whom she married September 1, 1939 in Greenup, Ky., one son: Gaylord Johnston, two brothers: Eugene and Damon Cameron and 2 sisters: Rosella Jordan and Betty Almendinger.

Lamont retired in 1983 as a supervisor aide serving over 30 yrs, working for the State of Ohio at the mental hospital on the Hilltop, following that she worked at the Worthington Nursing Home for 14 yrs. until her health wouldn’t allow her to.

She enjoyed crocheting, bingo, playing cards (especially euchre). The center of her life was her loving and devoted family.

Surviving are 2 sons: Irvin (Shirley) Johnston of Reynoldsburg and Gary (Helen) Johnston of Marion, 8 Grandchildren: David (Drema), Rick (Jennie), Sue Ellen, Tamara, Lisa, Patricia (Doug), Kenny and Tina, numerous Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren, 1 brother: Howard (Doris) Cameron of Plain City and 1 sister: Annabelle Cameron of Prospect, daughter-in-law: Betty Johnston of Washington C.H.

Funeral services will be held Saturday March 10, 2012 at 10:30 am at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Prospect, with the Rev. Rahel Hahn officiating, friends may call Friday from 5-7 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect, Graveside Services will be held Saturday March 10, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Waterloo Cemetery in Fayette County.

Memorial gifts may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Lamont has ben my sister-in-law for about 73 years and her family will surely miss her. Will be seeing her soon. Love always, JoAnn  (BOB's Sister)
