Marcella James
Marcella JamesMarcella James, 91, of Wellsville, died Thursday, August 25, 2011, at Calcutta Health Care Center.

She was born July 30, 1920, in Morrow County, Ohio, the daughter of the late John Wesley and Lillie (Shenneman) Fetter.

Marcella graduated from Kenton High School in 1938. She was employed for 17 years as the head cook for the Wellsville Local School District before retiring in 1985. Marcella was an active member of the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Liverpool, where she participated in women’s circles and was the money counter with her husband for 22 years. She was also active in the Yellow Creek Grange and the area garden clubs.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond James, whom she married July 19, 1944; two daughters: Joyce Bailey and her husband Jim of Rogers, and Barbara Welch of Venice, Florida; and two sons: Jack James and his wife Alcinda of Irondale, and Tim James and his wife Cindy of Homestead, Florida. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren: Jim Bailey, Joe Bailey, Jason Bailey, Marcia Brandt, Debbie Hale, Alan James, Jeff James, Tim James, Rick James, Emma James, Caleb James, Olivia James, Jodee Kessler, Jaimee Welch, Jackee Bosco, and Jessee Scott; and 27 great-grandchildren: Matt Bailey, Katie Bailey, Emma Bailey, Sara Bailey, Justin Bailey, Cassie Brandt, Bailey Brandt, Allie Hale, Rachel Hale, Sylvia Hale, Jackalynn Hale, Elmer Buckingham, Lacey James, Dean James, Marlena James, Andrew James, Benjamin James, Kaylee Smith, Karsyn Crissman, Johnna Moore, Chloe Kessler, Colin Kessler, Angelina Lopez, Natalia Lopez, Maddox Bosco, Mackenzie Bosco, and Riley Johnson.

In addition to her parents, Marcella was preceded in death by one son: Paul James; two sisters: Ruby Thompson and Pauline Jacoby; one brother: John Fetter, Jr.; one granddaughter: Rachel Rebecka James; one great-granddaughter: Emily Bailey; and one great-grandson: Jonathan Wright.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 29, 2011, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Edwards of the church officiating.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.

A funeral service will also be held at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, LaRue, on Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at 1:00 pm. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in LaRue Cemetery.
