Gertrude was born in Kenton, Ohio, on Feb. 17, 1919 to Sylvia (Derringer) and Henry Krock.  She married Robert E. Everett on March 2, 1941 in New Bloomington, and they celebrated 69 years together before his passing on August 17, 2008.

Hafer of Tiffin; granddaughter, Heather Everett (Doug) Treadaway of New Bloomington and her children, Dustin, Tyler, and Alexis Johnson; and daughter-in-law Paula Everett of rural Marion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sons – John E. Everett and Kenneth R. Everett; brother Earl Krock, and sisters Claribelle Vanderhoof and Mary Perry.

A graduate of Agosta High School (New Bloomington), Gertrude worked as a nurse practitioner at the Sawyer Sanitarium in Marion before beginning her life as a farmer’s wife and devoted mother.  She was best-known for her love of feeding family and friends, her award-winning baked and canned goods at the Marion County Fair, and listening to her beloved Robert sing.

She was a faithful member of New Bloomington United Methodist Church and the Women’s Circle until she moved to Fairhaven Retirement Community in 2007 and there she participated in chapel services and bell choir.

I have many fond memories of Aunt Gertrude; she was a fun lady who made me laugh many times.  I look forward to seeing her again in heaven. It's comforting to know that she along with Robert, Glenn, Mary & all the rest are having a great time right now in the very presence of Christ Jesus our Lord.  All of us who have repented and put our faith and trust in Christ are one day closer to rejoicing with them all.

I visited her a lot when I was in the prison ministry. She always had the upstairs bedroom fixed up for me , and plenty of good  home cooked meals. I loved her and Uncle Robert a lot, as they sort of took over as my Mom and Dad when my parents passed away. Norman ans I will see you Tuesday at the funeral. God bless you real good. Love Paul
