Edward Duane Pacha
Edward Duane PachaMarinesEdward Duane Pacha, age 70 of Richwood died unexpectedly Friday evening, January 7, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of Union County.  He was born April 3, 1940 in Richwood.  He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Pacha; his mother, Ella Louise (Trease) Dickason; and his step-father, LeRoy Dickason.

On January 3, 1959 he married the former Nancy Allinder in the Essex United Methodist Church and she survives in Richwood.  Family was the most important thing to Ed.  His wife, children and grandchildren were the joy of his life.  He was a member of the Richwood First United Methodist Church, former Richwood Lions Club, Indian Lake Moose, Buckeye Central Snow Trackers and the Gold Wing Club.  A 1958 graduate of Richwood High School, he was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps.  He worked for Whirlpool for 34 years, retiring in 2001.  He had also worked for the Richwood Gazette, North Union Schools and most recently, John Hinderer Honda.  A bit of a perfectionist, he really enjoyed doing yard work and was considered by all who knew him to be an all-around “good guy”.  He will be missed by his dog, Molly, who was his walking companion.

Besides his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his step-mother, Margaret Pacha, Upper Sandusky; three daughters, Kimberly Williams, Marion; Dawn Willey, Mt. Gilead; Christy Pacha, San Diego, CA; six brothers, Gary (Angela) Dickason, Edgerton; Arthur (Barb) Dickason, Marion; Charles (LeAnn) Dickason, Delaware; Ronald (Charlene) Dickason, Marion; David (Deb) Pacha, Richwood; Ronald Pacha, Marion; two sisters, Peggy Collins, Florida; Gina Hunter, Florida; grandchildren, Brandon Williamson; Kayle Williamson; Logen Willey; Taylor Gochenouer; Justin (Molly) Williams; Clint Williams; Blake Williams; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 7:00 PM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood where friends may call from 4 to 7.  Pastor Joe Rhea will officiate and military honors will be conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Union County Humane Society, 16540 County Home Rd. Marysville, Ohio 43040.

Dear Nancy and family,

We last saw you and Ed at the class of '58 noon luncheon, which followed a brisk evening at your home made warm by your hospitality.  I met Ed in our senior year when I moved to Richwood in 1957.  My earliest recollection of him was watching with envy as he did motorcycle wheelies on the highway in front of our home near his.  He transported me in to Richwood or back home countless times on his way to or from seeing you.  Gerri has often remembered with amusement starting grade school with Ed and how he used to tease her, calling her with the owlish glasses "Four Eyes" and sometimes "Jelly Bean" for Geraldine.  We will always remember fondly the twinkle in his blue-grey eyes, and we will miss him greatly as will all who knew him.  We hold you in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
