Robert Schlief Richardson
Robert Schlief RichardsonFlagRobert Schlief Richardson, age 84 of LaRue, formerly of Richwood died early Thursday morning, January 21, 2010 at Heartland of Marion.  He was born April 25, 1925 in Wyandot County to the late Soloman and Mary Ida (Schlief) Richardson Sr.

On September 24, 1967 he married the former Betty Delores Hamilton and she survives in LaRue.

He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of VFW Post 870 in Richwood.  He was a retired mechanic who had worked for the Buckeye Truck Center in Lima for over 35 years.  Bob enjoyed fishing, reading and solving word puzzles in the newspapers.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, two step-daughters, Meridel Erwin, Marion; Sally (Robert Jr.) Cobb, LaRue; 6 grandchildren, Shelley (Roger) Coe, Ostrander; Alicia (Todd) Outland, LaRue; R. Eric (Tiffany) Cobb, Mt. Victory; Kamma Cobb, Westerville; Jacquee (Ray) Montgomery, Prospect; Brent (Michelle) Ransome, Prospect, 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.  He was preceded in death by a step-son, Timothy Erwin; brothers, Paul, Soloman and George Richardson; and sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Suber and Julia Bohlen.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 PM on Sunday, January 24, 2010 in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood where military honors will be conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans at 6:00 PM.

Memorial gifts may be made to Heartland Hospice, 685 Delaware Ave., Marion, OH  43302.
