Inez R. Goken
Inez R. GokenGardeningInez R. Goken, age 96, of LaRue, died Monday October 19, 2009 at 12:02 AM with her niece Arlene and her caregivers by her side holding her hands. She was born September 6, 1913 in Green Camp Township to the late George and Dora May (Locker) Everett.  On December 29, 1945 she married C. Wayne Goken and he died April 22, 1997.

She is survived by Special niece Arlene (Eugene) Longacre, Great Nieces and Caregivers, Carolyn Penny, Barb (Frosty) Frizzell, and Christine (Mickey) Williams. Other niece Linda Camello and nephew Jerry Longacre.  Also nieces Nancy (Tom) Hafer, Beverly (Bill) Roby and Janet (Ron) Wilson. Great niece amd nephew Kristy (Jerry) Baldinger and Brian (Debra) Wilson. Sister in law Gertrude Everett, special friends Kip and Bonnie Fields and Family, Bobby Dean Thompson. Numerous Great, Great Great, and Great Great Great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two brothers Ivan and Robert Everett, three sisters, Eva Drake, Velda Sloat and Irma Bending.

Inez was a Homemaker, an amazing hard working woman who had a gift for growing flowers and plants. She and her husband Wayne owned and operated both the Green Candle and Coonies in LaRue. Member of the former Rebecca Lodge in New Bloomington and 50 year member of the Williamsport Grange in Morrow County.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday October 22, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home  in LaRue.  Officiating will be the Rev. Christopher Wiseman.  Burial in the LaRue Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home in LaRue from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday.  

Pall Bearers will be: Jerry Longacre, Mickey Williams, Frosty Frizzell, Kip Fields, Brian Wilson, and Jerry Baldinger.

Those who wish may make contribution to the Heartland Hospice at 685 Delaware Ave., Suite 200, Marion, OH  43302 .

While we grieve her loss, I hope we can find peace knowing that you did everything you could to make her comfortable and to make it possible to be with people who love her. Many people don't get that opportunity at the end.

Inez was a special lady.  Always had a joke to tell.  Loved to talk 'gardening' with my husband.
We'll miss her.
