Delmar Eastman
Delmar EastmanJohn Deere 4010Delmar Eastman, age 96 of Raymond died Sunday morning, September 27, 2009 surrounded by his loving and caring family in the home where he had lived since 1941.  He was born December 26, 1912 in Byhalia to the late Joseph W. and Edna (Cooley) Eastman.

On March 7, 1934 he married the love of his life, the former Pauline Fawley and she died April 30, 2005 after 71 years of marriage.

A lifelong farmer, he was a hard worker and an active and faithful member of the former McKendree United Methodist Church where he held several positions.  He was a 1931 graduate of York Center High School.  He had served as a board member in the York School District.  In his later years, Delmar enjoyed traveling, playing golf and spending winters at their Pine Island, Florida home with his wife Pauline.  Family was central to his life and his most enjoyable time was spent at family activities.

He is survived by three daughters, Evelyn (Howard) Grose, Richwood; Jean (Rod) Farrington, West Mansfield; Janice (Tag) Loudermilk, Centerburg; two sons, Donald (Barbara) Eastman, Raymond; Larry (Paula) Eastman, Raymond; 19 grandchildren, Patrick (Betty) Loudermilk, Stacy (Mike) McIntire, Jeffrey (Tracie) Loudermilk, Margaret (Jeff) Wood, John (Crystal) Shoemaker, Dawn Eastman, Amy Wilson, Kim (Kirby) Day, Matt (Amy) Eastman, Melanie (Stan) Price, Michelle (Allen) Strickland, Marcy Elliott, Melita (Larry) Becker, Michael (Tara) Grose, Mark Grose, Joyce (Mike) Cameron, Mark (Sabra) Kemp, Rhonda (Glen) Wright, Barbara (Monty) Kilfian, 43 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth, two grandsons, Terry Kemp, Joshua Loudermilk; two great-grandsons and two brothers, Mitchell and Leonard Eastman.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Dennis Stranges officiating.  Burial will follow in York Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home in Richwood.
