Mary Margaret Collins
Mary Margaret CollinsMary Margaret Collins, 84 of Richwood died Sunday morning, February 17, 2008 at Marion General Hospital.  She was born to Levi and Cecil Verl (Stayner) Price on April 6, 1923 in Richwood, just around the corner from the First United Methodist Church on Fulton Street.

On February 14, 1943 she married Amil L. Collins and he died June 11, 2004.  Sadly no children were born to them, but they were blessed with loving brothers and sisters and caring nieces and nephews who went the extra mile to be there for them.  Mary has always lived in Richwood, and has always been a member of the Richwood First UMC.  She had worked as a bookkeeper for Parrott Implement for 19 years.  She was also a member of the Richwood Civic Center.  She believed she had the World’s Greatest Mother growing up, as well as a good dad and loving sister.

She is survived by a sister, Dorothy V. Gardner, Ft. Myers, Florida; and several nieces and nephews including Gary and Nancy Collins of Richwood.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or calling hours observed.  A private family memorial will take place in Claibourne Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Richwood First United Methodist Church, 18 S. Fulton Street, Richwood, OH  43344 OR Richwood Civic Center, 235 Grove Street, Richwood, OH  43344.

Now my Dad's fishing friends (Amil & Mary) are with him. Mary was such a joy and upbeat person. Our family enjoyed many weekends at Lake Erie with them. God Bless you Mary! Love, Barbara Baker Williams, Kathleen & Anne

Mary was a sweet lady. We only knew her a short time. She will be missed at the apartments.

Our Aunt Mary was always the favorite.  She was the relative that gave water pistols, who didn't care if your feet got wet,who had time for a kid because we were important.  God speed, Aunt Mary. You live on in our hearts.  Be at rest and say Hi to Uncle A. and Grandma and Grandpa.  Bonnie

Oh Mary Margaret how we will miss you!

Mary was part of everything that we did at the Civic Center, she played, she helped, she participated. She would always be the one to whoop with joy when we decorated for a special event.
She was always ready with a smile and enthuiasm for every occasion.
She had great appreciation for  everyday things, the flowers and birds, receiving notes and pictures, sending them in return,  choosing the cards very carefully so that they were just right.
She conducted  interviews for the apartments' newsletter (and she was really good at).
Like I said - every day walking down the hall, sharing a smile. Most of us us couldn't keep up with her energy, and she was determined that after the surgery she would give us all a run for our money. Now it's Amil who is going to have to keep up.
We will always think of you with love and a smile
