He died March 30, 1974 at 11 a.m. Saturday at home.
He was born Sept. 14, 1925, in Hardin County to Carl John and Olivia (Glaub) Scharf. His mother survives in Mt. Victory.
He was married Nov. 9,1946, to Mary Rita Wolfe, who also survives.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Church in LaRue, the Knights of Columbus in Kenton and was a World War II veteran.
Scharf was a mechanic at B. F. Goodrich in Green Camp.
Other survivors 10 children Michael of Columbus, Thomas of Marion, Mrs. Thomas (Mary Jo) Majors of Marion, Patrick, Stephen, Diane, Carol, Richard, Jane and Paula, all at home; two granddaughters; a brother, George, and a sister, Mrs. Lester (Marianna) Sherman, both of Kenton; and brothers Stanley and John of Mt. Victory.
Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church in LaRue by the Rev. Robert Schneider, with burial in St. Marys Cemetery at Kenton.
Friends may call at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue through this evening. The Rosary will be recited at 8 tonight.
