FREDERICK CARL ALLGOWER
Frederick Carl Allgower, 87, of Sun City, Ariz., for the last 30 r years, formerly of Richwood, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at Mar- ion General Hospital.
He was a 1934 graduate of Richwood High School and a Navy veteran of World War II. He owned and operated the former Allgower TV Sales and Service in Richwood and was a member of Rich-wood VFW Post 870. He attended both the Central and First United Methodist churches and enjoyed playing baseball and bowling. He retired from the city of Fountain Hills, Ariz., as manager and comptroller for the roads and sanitation district. He was an Arizona Dia- mondbacks fan and enjoyed golfing and playing pool with his group he Hotshots.
He was born June 23,1916, in Richwood to the late Carl and Anna ' Schlegel Allgower. He was the last of his family, having been prede- 1 eased by three brothers, Edgar, Walter and Rusty and a sister, Flo-ence Duemmel.
He is survived by his wife, Doris E. Andrews Allgower whom he named Jan. 12, 1941, in Gallipolis; two sons, Fred (Jackie) Allgo-ver of Cave Creek, Ariz., and Dr. Craig (Barb) Allgower of Cincin-iati; a daughter, Judy (Gary) Benner of Marion; grandchildren, Dr. Lance (Devon) Allgower, Nicole Lyn Watterson, Kristen Noelle Watterson, Jessica Diane Benner, Tara Allgower, Lauren Allgower and Chris Allgower; a great-granddaughter, Taryn Shea Allgower.
In keeping with his wishes, after cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Claibourne Cemetery whre Jeteran's graveside services will be conducted by Richwood VFW Post 870. The Rev. Fred Cheney will officiate.
Arrangements are being handled by the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood.
